The SHOW
Dan Wright – Winemaker/Unsworth Vineyards

The Unsworth winery continues to grow.
A new grand new tasting room, barrel and tank rooms & new vineyards.
For a winery in the Cowichan Valley, it’s astonishing.
They’ve created an outstanding new vineyard in north Duncan. World class clones of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The BC wine business is paying attention.
After much research and deliberation, two different California based wine families have purchased three wineries in The Cowichan Valley.
The first was Unsworth Vineyards. (The second was Blue Grouse and third Cobble Hill Winery)
The Unsworth winemaker is Dan Wright. Dan is an integral part of the building team.
Dan gave us a walk through the new facility and explained the changes at Unsworth and the changes up ahead.
New vineyards north of Duncan. Plantings were 70% Pinot 25% Chardonnay and smaller amounts of Gamay and Pinot Gris.
Current production is 10,000 cases. Several years down this new runway, they project production at 50,000 cases. (They hope to do some custom crushes as well)
Much to discuss.
