Mulligan Stew Aug 1st 2026- Celebrating the songs of Tom Waits and artists at Canmore!

Episode Notes

Hope everyone is having a memorable Summer.

Don’t be in a hurry. It’s gone soon enough.

I’ve got 2 hours of curated music.  It’s been lived in.

Playing William Prince and The Dust Collectors from Canmore  Folk Festival

(There’s new stuff like

Dan Penn & Buddy Miller,

Brandi Carlile,

Old Crow Medicine Show,

The Rolling Stones)

Got a great song from an outstanding singer, Ryland Baxter and one from Scary Pockets & Madison Cunningham.

Plus Keb Mo from his new album, The Breakdown.   We’ll be running our interview with Keb  Aug 22^nd)

Hour Two features a celebration of the songs and talent of Tom Waits.

You all know how special he is. Unique songs driven by a unique voice and character.

Tom sings

Fumbling with the Blues

Tom Traubert’s Blues

(looking for the) Heart of a Saturday Night

Then,  Tom’s songs by

 John Hammond Gin Soaked Boy

 The Eagles  Ol’ 55 (live)

Bruce Springsteen Jersey Girl (live in NJ)

The Summer Stew finishes with an incredible 8-minute track by Georgie Fame. One of the very best talents to ride the British Invasion.

Survival starts as a quiet blues that finishes with a Memphis Horn riff that just keeps building over the last two minutes.

We’ll be LIVE at Edmonton Folk Next Week. Hope to see you there.

Good luck on the 50.50
