Episode Notes

In addition to the 2 hours of music included below, The Stew will also add this week’s festival updates.
Guests are Fiona Black. Vancouver Folk Festival July 19-21 and Kerry Clark.  Calgary Folk Festival July 25-28

Both with fantastic artist line-ups and both talking artists to watch for and listen to.

Two donor hours.

The first hour is dedicated to a farming couple lost to COVID-19 in 2021.
Songs to farm life from Murray McLauchlan, Corb Lund & Ian Tyson, David Francey and suggested songs from Dire Straits, Kacey Musgraves & Bill Bourne.

The second donor left it to me. A creative gift I never take for granted.

New music from Rory Block, Madeline Peyroux, Radio Grande, Willie Nelson and very interesting storytelling songwriting from Norine Braun about discovering her Indigenous roots and where the journey led her.

As always, Saturday night classics from
Van  the Man
Plant and Krauss
Matt Anderson
The Wood Brothers,
Dave Alvin and Jimmy Dale Gilmore
Bob Dylan – Like a Rolling Stone
Celeigh Cardinal  (#1)

Two songs of “Mercy” from Mike Farris and Don Covay
Booker T and the MG’s
Quest Love -The Roots.
And more.

Next week we feature the last two festivals.
Canmore and Edmonton.
