Mulligan Stew June 13th – Donor Driven. Great Tunes for your Saturday

Ok. First things first…
June 13 is World Chenin Wine Day. I made a decision to celebrate one of my favourite white wines by listening to The Stew, not during recording. But it was close.
Two great donor hours.

Hour One – Michael and Maggie suggested a guitar segment.. See below!!

> The Second Hour?  Jeff sent a lifetime of CKUA memories. From losing the signal and the comeback. Shaking the new donor bell and discovering the old 5th-floor bathroom was jammed with boxes of records. The donor is living in Toronto but is really connected to Alberta through CKUA. Dedicated the hour “to all those at CKUA,  on air and off, that we have lost.”

Hour one asks for a guitar “thing.”
So,  Derek Trucks, Joe Bonamassa & Jimmy Vaughn. Eric Clapton &  John Mayer.  Carlos Santana  & Steve Winwood, and then a great advance single from Harry Manx. Called Pork Pie Turban. Also, an incredible one-off cover of Ry Cooder’s I Can’t Win Your Love (from Bop til you Drop)by the Bros. Landreth in a pub in Dublin. It’s simply amazing.
Also, two tracks from The Highwomen, led by Brandi Carlile, live at The Gorge.
Plus a quick rundown of the NYTimes readers’ poll Top 100 living American songwriters.
