#aboutfreakintime

My first choice was to do this show on The Juno Couch.

Unfortunately, it was posted on Craig’s List.

Speaking of “list” –  I made one of my own.  Artists I would love to talk to.

Because BareNaked Ladies were being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and because Steven Page had agreed to appear with The ladies for the first time in 10 years I went looking for Ed Robertson who co-founded the group with Steven.

We cover a lot of ground in our 9 minutes on the phone. (the rest will be posted on Mulligan/Stew The Podcast on iTunes and Google Play Music)

You’ll hear when they made the decision, why they agreed to reconnect and what songs and friends they’re bringing along.

I found Buffy Sainte Marie in Vancouver ready to start her day. FYI – nobody fills a day better than Buffy.

We talk about her years of connection with The Junos, today’s music and her place in it and her new album Medicine Songs. (the Rest of the interview can be heard asap at MulliganStew The Podcast. Including her story about being in Hawaii and waiting 35 minutes for the “missiles” to land.

In rapid order, we also talk to

Bruce Cockburn about his nominated album Bone on Bone

Jann Arden about her Juno thoughts..and because it’s Jann..we talk about everything else.

Terra Lightfoot First time Juno nominee. Completely buzzed about being there.

Nuela Charles – with a great story.  The last time she attended the Junos in Vancouver she was a seat filler. She comes back as a nominee.

PLUS a full 90 minutes of music as an opening act.

Check out the playlist..I’m not lying.

HAVE A GREAT Juno Weekend.
