Kevin Kane and The Hooper Brothers, Chris and Tommy, have been an original Canadian band for over 40 years.

 

Same three guys. Still making music.

At the end of this conversation with Kevin Kane, Tom and Chris Hooper from 2 years ago,  they announced that it was the first group interview in 10 years.
I hoped at the time that it would start a new ball rolling for the Grapes. Long time favourite band of mine. The harmonies, the construction of the songs and the lack of BS on stage. They were blessed with voices and songs that other bands envied.  MuchMusic loved these guys.  Every one of us played these songs.
At times they tour as all three, at times it’s just Tom and Kevin.
Grapes just played McPherson Playhouse in Victoria May 22 and a grand return to Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom with full band May 23.  Good pals  Limblifter opened for them.
July 9, they play The Hub Penticton.
July 12, Mateade on Salt Spring Island.
Sept 13 Barnside BC.
The boys tour Quebec and Ontario all of October.
Not bad for a band with gold and platinum albums, who broke up 1992 but started getting back together in the late 90’s and finally all back 2010.
I am so happy to see them playing and supporting each other.
